Black Jack Lessons
Black Jack is possibly one of the most well-known games played in casinos. Black jack is also known as "twenty one" or Chemin de Fer. The game is a mix of luck and skills coupled with decision-making. The card game has evolved over a set amount of time. Players have specialized in certain skills like "card counting," with which they shift the odds of the game in the players favor. The card game has been in existence since the 18th century. References can be found in historical scriptures to a game known as "vingt-et-un," which means 21 in French, and is thought of as the ancestor to blackjack.
The card game was originally not so popular in the US. This caused the casinos attempting different features like providing a reward in case of a ten to one payout, if the player was dealt a "black" jack and an ace of spades. The jack could be either clubs or spades. Once the card game became well-liked, the reward pay out quickly vanished from the game.
Any hand which achieves a sum of twenty one is considered a winner. The value can not be in excess of 21, in which case the hand is said to be "bust." The goal of any player is to defeat the croupier. If the blackjack player and the dealer both have the identical score, it is referred to as a "push" (a tie), with not either the blackjack player nor the croupier winning the hand.
